Community Park – A perspective rendering
The 40-acre Community Park proposed at the eastern end of the open space corridor will serve River Park, as well as the greater Southport area and the City of West Sacramento. The park will establish linkages to the Sacramento River and the proposed Marina. The design of the Community Park will feature both active and passive recreation areas, with a portion of the park site dedicated to stormwater detention. The park plan will also provide a bicycle and pedestrian trail system that will extend into the Community Park from the Urban Park and will continue around the perimeter of the park, affording access to all primary amenities. Community Park amenities may include, but will not be limited to:
- Community Center

- Baseball field
- Softball field
- Tot-lots
- Skate park
- Bicycle park
- Picnic areas
- Boardwalk
- Bicycle trail
- Pedestrian/jogging trail
- Seating area
